A Yard-Sale Tale At Tamarai Thai Restaurant

You’ll instantly have my attention at the mention of a SALE. The Yard-sale details I’m going to share with you caught my eye via a friend’s Facebook post last week. The sale happens every last Saturdayย of the month, from 9:00am till about 3:00pm attracting sellers and buyers of all agesย at the beautiful Tamarai Thai Restaurant and tea lunge.

On a chilled Saturday afternoon, tables were spread with everything from accessories, bags, tops, books, dining ware, kitchen ware and unique furniture pieces. I’m sure you’re thinking-everything in this sentence excites me! Especially if there’s a chance you’ll get them cheaply.

I had the pleasure of attending withย the talented Mohsen Taha, who has a passion for photography and captures moments marvelously.

Hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce Uganda, the sale started in 2014 and has raised money for various charity homes.

I spotted a cute tye and dye wallet by an artist called Wazzda who also makes these dope caps.

I think Yard-sales offer so many little things that you normally wouldn’t find anywhere. We need more of these in Kampala. You had to have an open-mind and keen eye to discover amazing items. Kind of like a treasure-hunt ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you’re keeping warm. Have a beautiful week!

  • You grabbed my attention with that title. I love Thai cooking almost as much as I love yard sales. And I love a good tale. Cheers for a great story about a nice way to spend a morning.
