The Good Hair Collective Review

by

My these have been hair-tale days! How about we keep this going with a review/ natural hair update πŸ™‚

After 5 months, I can say I’m learning so much about my hair texture and preferred care steps… The best part about this new hair journey is every single discovery and how to deal with the texture along the way. I’ve learned I have 4C type hair, which is quite course and soaks up water instantly- my hair guzzles water more than I do! It’s been a challenge finding some way to keep my hair moisturized.

Luckily I’ve had such good teachers to guide me this far. Aside from the joys of coconut oil as an essential oil, I’ve been introduced to Shea butter. As naturals, Shea butter is our friend/best natural conditioner I’ve discovered. It’s been three months since I started using The Good Hair Collective Shea butters and I’ve noticed a texture difference in my hair.Β The Good Hair Collective Shea a.k.a TGCH butters are whipped with a blend of different flavors that smell delicious!

My hair is loving the African Vanilla and Sweet Orange Dream as myΒ ends are way softer, healthier and manageable! I can’t stress the difference enough. I remember waking up one morning to much softer tips then thinking wow, my hair is finally behaving.

After I took down my chunky bob braids, I was amazed at the growth sprout. #afroprogress I think I’m almost over the phase where I wash my hair EVERY chance I get.

I’m also getting used to braiding it into neat plaits before bed which I’ve foundΒ goes way smoother when I rub some TCHC Sweet orange dream on my fingers.

Confession. I’ve also gotten used to using the Mint chocolate on my skin mostly for it’s yummy scent….

My research *read goggling brought up some interesting benefits of Shea butter. Two of my favourites are using it as a sealant and for protection from the heat.

I plan on implementing the mint chocolate whipped butter into my L.O.C method. A small tip however would be to store it in a dry place (Not your handbag) as it has a tendency to melt in warm temperatures. Let me know what you think about Shea butter as a moisturizer or share how you’re using it. Have you triedΒ The Good Hair CollectiveΒ for your hair or skin? I’d love to know!

Wishing you Shea-happiness,

Karen
