Happy new week guys! I’ve been cruising through June and July, with less worry about the hustle of either slow taxi drivers or careless boda riders. I’ve switched to ubering my way around Kampala and on the days that I can’t afford to, I’ll either walk or run there. Ha!

Uber, an on-demand service, seamlessly connects you with a private driver at the tap of a button recently launched in Kampala in June!

What I love most about it, is that my movements to and from meetings, errands around town or even events will be in a clean air-conditioned car! The convenience of ordering a ride is amazing, as well as safe since my mum and sister can track my rides. I also can’t resist a bargain: as they are cheaper than taxis. An added bonus is that we get to rate our Uber driver; based on his service…I also LOVE that you can share a ride if you and friend are heading in the same direction. Whoop whoop!

It’s not just me that’s benefiting but the Uber drivers as well, who include some of my friends…they tell me that they love the flexibility, which allows them to work as much or little as they want, as the app can be turned on or off whenever they like, they enjoy the social interactions with the different kinds of people that get into their cars, plus learn about different events and become more aware of their city.

And because you deserve the absolute best, plus sharing is caring, you too can arrive in style with Uber with your personal driver! I have partnered with Uber to get you to and from your event safely, by signing up with my code:  CHOCOLATYPRINTS, in order to receive FREE first rides up to USh 15 000. To request your ride, simply download the free application for iPhone, Android, Blackberry 7, Windows Phone, or visit the mobile site: here.

Are you a regular Uber user like I am? Let me know what your experience with Uber in Uganda has been so far!

More on point, thanks for writing this review. I’ve been thinking of trying Uber Kampala but had not come across anyone here who’s actually used it. I’ll be sure to try it out this weekend, and I’ll definitely use your discount code. Thanks for hooking us up! 😉

    • Hey Biche, thank you so much 🙂 I can’t wait to hear all about your experience with Uber in Uganda!
      Glad you used the code
      Have a wonderful week♥

      • Thanks, but I had a horrible experience. I tried to get an Uber to take me to the Vodafone PowerTalks on Thursday morning and 20 minutes after the Uber’s ETA, he’d still not come to pick me up. Also, sadly, I could see from the map that the Uber was stil stationary (the driver had called me around the time he should have been arriving at my place and sounded as though he was still in bed), so I cancelled the Uber and used my trusty boda-boda guy. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

        • Oh no, I’m sorry and sad to hear about your experience Biche! I hope you left a review on your driver…
I try to minimize the number of times I use bodas lately, with all the accidents happening. I guess that’s what I love most about Uber is that I pay the same or slightly more to travel in comfort…I’ve heard drivers cancel on me before, but they were not driving in my direction.

          • That’s exactly the reason I am trying to latch onto Uber. With all the fatal or terrifying boda accidents happening lately, I can no longer justify using bodas as I once did. Forgot to write a review because I was in a rush but will definitely give Uber another chance. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
